Master of Cappenberg (Jan Baegert), active about 1500–about 1525
The Coronation of the Virgin, about 1520
© The National Gallery, London
The Coronation of the Virgin, by The Master of Cappenberg is captured in this stunning arrangement. Our florists focused on one area of the painting where the Holy Ghost in the form of a dove hovers above the crown being placed on the Virgin Mary's head. We captured the dove and rich red tapestry in the background by luxurious Grand Prix Roses. We have also added Hypericum Berries and Cinnamon Scrolls for a seasonal touch. The deep colours and textures in this painting are contrasted with scented White Lilies, also a symbol of peace and purity adding a touch of lightness to this special arrangement. Finally, our florists have included Gold Ruscus leaves with Natural Birch and a Golden Thread finish representing the crown being placed on the Virgin Mary.
These luxury flowers are inspired by the masterpieces housed at the National Gallery. Each bouquet is beautifully arranged by our floral designers exclusively for the National Gallery. Included you will receive a gift card print of the artwork and a National Gallery care guide.
(Medium bouquet is shown where multiple sizes are available)
