Leonardo da Vinci, 1452–1519
The Burlington House Cartoon, about 1499 –1500
© The National Gallery, London
This bouquet is inspired by Leonardo da Vinci's, The Virgin and Child with Saint Anne and the Infant Saint John the Baptist (The Burlington House Cartoon). Our florists have focused on the copper effect in the painting to create a striking arrangement that includes, copper Ruscus, peach Avalanche Roses, Sweet Pink Roses, Apple Tea and caramel Carnations. The textures in this bouquet also reflect the rougher mountainous landscape in which this famous work is set. You will notice how the various flowers and fresh greenery work together to reflect the iconic image of the Virgin Mary sitting on the lap of Saint Anne, her mother. Christ’s cousin, Saint John the Baptist, leans against Anne’s lap as the baby Christ tickles his chin. This luxurious and impressive floral arrangement makes a bold statement for the most milestone occasions. This exquisite arrangement has been created by our expert florists in collaboration with the National Gallery for the 500th anniversary of the death of Leonardo da Vinci.
These luxury flowers are inspired by the masterpieces housed at the National Gallery. Each bouquet is beautifully arranged by our floral designers exclusively for the National Gallery. Included you will receive a gift card print of the artwork and a National Gallery care guide.
